Houses
Apartments and private houses, from the first plan to the last switch. We re-plan as readily as we decorate.
Société à responsabilité limitée · Lausanne
Betty SARL is an interior architecture practice. We design private houses, small hotels, and rooms for art. The work is drawn, specified, and stayed with until the building is finished. Decoration is the last decision, never the first.

Study · the open roomLausanne practice
We take on a small number of commissions at a time. A house. An inn of eight rooms. A gallery that still has to work on a Monday morning. The practice is in Lausanne. The sites are in Switzerland and, when the project asks for it, just across the border.
Visits to the atelier are by appointment. The first conversation is usually a letter: the building, the people who will use it, and what must not be lost.

Inns and houses with a handful of rooms, where a guest should feel expected rather than processed.
Galleries and private rooms for objects. Light that does not compete with what it is there to show.
Stone, timber, plaster, textile — written down so a contractor can price it and a client can still read it. We stay through the build.
We measure what is there, including how the household actually moves on an ordinary day.
Plans, a material direction, and a cost conversation before the details multiply.
Drawings a builder can price. A set a client can still hold without a translator.
Regular visits until the work matches the drawing, or the drawing is honestly changed.
“They took things out until the house felt as if it had always been that way.”
New commissions
Tell us the building, who it is for, and whether you are at the start or already in a design. We reply within five working days. If we cannot take the work, we say so plainly.
